This Alfa doesn’t look that great. It’s not bad but it isn’t as good as everyone makes it seem.

it looks better in person.

It looks as average as the M5 that they used as their target when designing it.

Yes but it isn’t a work of art either imo

I don’t hate it, I don’t love it. Its never going to be a part of my life and so my emotional investment all things considered it low.

Butterface.

that’s fair, it’s a good looking car though.

To me the Brera was the pinnacle of modern Alfa Romeo design.
But considering the constraints imposed on car design, Alfa has been able to keep sidestepping a lot of the design traps that modern car companies normally fall into. The ubiquitous horizontal grille being one of them.
I agree, aside from the front this new Giulia looks a little generic. In fact, it seems to be related to how far back you look. The last somewhat-unique part of the car is the C-pillar window cut line. There is nothing unique aft of that. The taillights could have been from a 2008 Hyundai.
The Giulietta and MiTo still look more special from nose to tail.

You want an unpopular opinion? I think Alfa beaks look horrible and ugly on any car made after the 1960s.

I find it a little fugly myself.

As is mine

I just want it to do well so more Alfas come over here. My 164s was the worst car I’ve ever owned and the one I owned for the shortest amount of time, but it’s the one that dug the most into my heart. I know it’s cliche but there really was something special about it.
Unfortunately, the Quadrifoglio is way out of even an aspirational price range for me in the near future and the rest don’t do much for me without a manual.

I just can’t get around that beak grill. It ruins every Alfa for me.

I agree with your last point. This is supposed be the flagship that gets Alfa back into the sporting sedan world and the Giuliette and MiTo look better.

headlights too long

That is unpopular... but in a lot of ways you’re right.

Agree. It almost looks like the car is squinting and has a headache

To add to my earlier comment, just look at how cute its rear is...

Would rather have the 4C

I’m usually don’t jump on styling band wagons - but I really like that new Alfa. Better than the new BMW 5, better than the Benz, better than the Jag, etc... But I respect your opinion. :)

It looks like Hyundai made an Alfa

The MiTo is a great looking car. It has a ton of character in person.
![]() 02/08/2017 at 19:34 |

It loos better than some of its competitors (3 Series, IS) and worse than some (Jag XE). There’s just something about it that doesn’t work for me.

Not a bad ass I will admit

Sports car > sports sedan

The Jag is a handsome thing though

It’s different, in a way that is unmistakably an Alfa...from the front. Most everything in it’s class is interchangeable.
![]() 02/08/2017 at 20:09 |

I actually hate the front.

I agree completely

I’ve always thought the Alfa grille to be ugly as sin. Disregarding that, it is kinda handsome. Headlights are a bit pinched.

What if you’re just wrong.
![]() 02/08/2017 at 21:38 |

I’m with you. I’m not feelin’ it.

i think the chin ducts if smaller would improve the front. They draw the attentions down away from the grill

Oppo seems to be behind me

I agree, but I think it looks better in non-QF
![]() 02/09/2017 at 08:55 |

I agree, except for this case. They’ve really made it work here imo.

What if Oppo is just wrong.

I didn’t really care for it in pictures. Got to be around one all day on Sunday and I fell in love. You need to see it before you make a decision.
![]() 02/09/2017 at 10:18 |

I’ll have to agree with you on this one. It looks great in person, but it just doesn’t do anything for me. I’d much rather have an M3 or a regular 3-Series if we’re talking about the regular Giulia.
To me, the Alfa Romeo 159 TI 3.2 V6 JTS Q4 Q-Tronic is one of the best looking (and sounding) cars ever made. I’d take one over a Giulia Quadrifoglio 11 out of 10 times.

You’re right it actually does
